HCM City to invest $546 mln in developing two parks
The city targets 0.65 sq.m of public park per capita.
Under its park and green space development plan, Ho Chi Minh City will invest VND13.9 trillion ($546 million) in developing two large-scale parks in the 2024-2030 period.
One of the parks will be built on an area of 150 ha in District 12, with an estimated investment capital of VND7.5 trillion ($294.6 million).
The other will cover 128 ha in Thu Duc City, with an investment capital estimated at VND6.4 trillion ($251.4 million).
Under the plan, the city will develop a minimum 68 ha of public parks and 4 ha of green space.
The city aims to have at least 0.65 sq.m of public park per capita, equivalent to at least 150 ha of new public parks.
There are currently some 400 parks in HCM City with 235,000 trees.
In 2023, the city planted 12,500 trees and developed 8.2 ha of public parks and over 32 ha of green space.
