HCMC & Mekong Delta localities to boost cooperation
Key cooperative areas under action plan to include transport, tourism, technology, digital transformation, and climate change adaptation.
Ho Chi Minh City and localities in the Mekong Delta will prioritize cooperation in five key areas in the 2024-2025 period, including transport infrastructure; tourism development; climate change adaptation; science, technology, and digital transformation; and education, healthcare, and labor.
This forms part of an action plan to implement an agreement on socio-economic development cooperation in 2023 and the 2024-2025 period, which was signed in March.
Ho Chi Minh City will join with the Mekong Delta localities this year to organize various regional programs to connect businesses and promote investment and goods supply.
Speaking at a conference on July 21 in Can Tho city to unveil the action plan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai said the cooperative endeavor serves as a bridge to link businesses in the region and promote public-private partnerships for the development of all.
The two sides also signed an agreement on tourism development cooperation by 2025 last March.
