High demand for new workers in HCM City for 2H
Enterprises needing some 161,000 workers for production and trade expansion.
Ho Chi Minh City needs 153,000 - 161,000 laborers for the last six months of the year to meet production and trade demand, focusing on key industries and services, according to the city’s Resources Forecast and Labor Market Information (Falmi) Center.
The trade and service sector has the biggest demand. It needs between 102,600 and 108,000 new workers, accounting for 66.89% of the total human resources required. Elsewhere, the industrial-construction sector needs 50,700 to 53,300 jobs, making up 33.03%.
Human resources demand in four key industries constitutes 15.61% of the total, with the mechanical industry accounting for 6.79%, electronics 3.09%, food processing 3.73%, and pharmaceutical chemicals-rubber 1.99%.
The city licensed 23,610 new enterprises in the first six months of the year with nearly 70,000 laborers.
Of which, there are 450 FDI enterprises, accounting for 1.91% of the total, with 3,651 laborers.
