Hoa Sen Group unveils new Mag Shield coated steel
Hoa Sen Group unveils corrosion-resistant Mag Shield steel, aiming at high-durability applications in harsh and industrial environments.

Hoa Sen Group has successfully produced and introduced its first Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium alloy-coated steel coil under the Hoa Sen Mag Shield brand, marking a significant advancement in the company’s technological innovation strategy. The product was officially launched on August 5, 2025, at the Hoa Sen Nghe An factory.
Positioned as a new-generation coated steel product, Hoa Sen Mag Shield incorporates a high-quality steel base and is coated using a continuous hot-dip process with a precisely formulated Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium alloy. This advanced coating enhances corrosion and rust resistance by three to five times, and the hardness of the protective layer is twice that of traditional galvanized steel sheets.
The product is designed to perform in harsh environments, meeting stringent technical requirements while maintaining aesthetic quality and long-term durability. Hoa Sen Mag Shield is expected to serve as an optimal material for national infrastructure projects and international-standard developments.

Beyond its durability, the product benefits from increased hardness and improved formability, which allows for enhanced shaping and aesthetic finishes. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from residential and commercial buildings to industrial and agricultural projects.
One of the product’s most notable features lies in its self-healing capability. Thanks to the presence of Magnesium in the coating, Hoa Sen Mag Shield can autonomously form a new protective layer at cut edges or drilled holes during installation. This self-repair mechanism represents a technical breakthrough compared to conventional coated steel products.
According to Hoa Sen Group, maintaining high product quality is a strategic priority to boost the competitiveness and credibility of the Hoa Sen brand in both domestic and international markets. Hoa Sen Mag Shield is produced and tested in accordance with globally recognized standards such as JIS (Japan), ASTM (United States), BS EN (Europe), and AS (Australia). Depending on conditions and location, the product is backed by warranties of up to 50 years.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc, Deputy General Director of Hoa Sen Group, stated that the launch of Hoa Sen Mag Shield reflects more than just product innovation. “This is a symbol of our commitment to innovation, quality, and the ambition to elevate Vietnam’s coated steel industry. We aim to bring the superior value of Hoa Sen Mag Shield to both local and international markets and contribute to the development of long-lasting, sustainable structures,” he said.
With its superior resistance to corrosion, flexible construction capability, visual appeal, cost-effectiveness, and environmental benefits, Hoa Sen Mag Shield is being positioned as a key material for demanding construction projects.
Its intended applications include pre-engineered steel warehouses and factories in coastal industrial zones, high-tech agricultural infrastructure such as greenhouses and livestock barns, and supporting structures for solar power systems like cable trays and control cabinets. It is also suitable for transportation infrastructure elements such as guardrails, protective fences, public shelters, and roofing systems, as well as high-end residential and commercial housing developments. Additionally, it offers a reliable solution for consumer and industrial equipment requiring anti-rust metal enclosures.
By combining performance, sustainability, and long-term reliability, Hoa Sen Mag Shield is poised to become a key material in shaping modern, durable, and environmentally responsible construction.
