India's Adani Group plans to invest $2.8 bln in energy projects in Vietnam

India's major energy and infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group wishes to invest in energy in south-central Binh Thuan province of Vietnam, specifically Vinh Tan 3 Thermal Power Plant with a total investment of around $2.8 billion, its Chairman Gautam Adani told Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during their meeting in New Delhi on July 31.

PM Chinh is on a State visit to India between July 31-August 1.

The group leader also informed that the conglomerate has planned to pour $2 billion to develop the Lien Chieu port project in the central coastal city of Da Nang.

The group also wishes to enhance cooperation with Vietnamese partners in the fields of aviation and logistics, he said.

PM Chinh spoke highly of the group’s performance in Vietnam and its plan to expand operation in the country in the coming time.

The PM pledged that Vietnam would create favorable ways for foreign investors to operate effectively, including in strategic infrastructure development.
