Central Highlands Lam Dong province targets to become a comprehensively developed locality of Vietnam by 2030.
The goal is set in the province’s master plan for 2021-2030 periods with a vision to 2050, which was announced on June 23.
At the announcing ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang granted the Prime Minister's decision approving the plan to local authorities.
The province will promote economic growth with the development of agriculture and forestry being a pillar, the development of the manufacturing industry as a driver and tourism development as a breakthrough.
Sustainable and modern agricultural economy will be promoted to turn Lam Dong into a high-tech organic production and research center of the country and the world.
Priorities will be given to the sustainable development of bauxite, alumina and aluminum exploitation and processing; agro-forestry processing; and infrastructure development.
The province sets development orientation for three key sectors, including agriculture-forestry and fisheries; services and industry-construction.
Under the plan, Lam Dong also aims to become a green tourism paradise by 2030, accommodating leading high-end resort-eco-healthcare-sport tourism centers in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Lam Dong will turn the resort city of Da Lat into a high-quality and modern tourism center.
