Japan’s Aeon Group currently has some 200 stores around Vietnam.

The Hanoi People’s Committee has approved detailed planning for a new Aeon Mall on over 8 ha straddling Dai Kim and Thinh Liet wards in Hoang Mai district, with a parking lot capable of accommodating 4,000 vehicles.

This will be Aeon’s third shopping mall in the capital, after Aeon Mall Long Bien and Aeon Mall Ha Dong.

Meanwhile, a breaking ground ceremony for Aeon Mall Hue in central Thua Thien-Hue province, which covers more than 8.6 ha and has total investment of VND3.9 trillion ($170 million), is scheduled to be held on February 11.

Japanese retailer the Aeon Group has about 200 stores in Vietnam, including six shopping malls and supermarkets. Most of its supermarkets are in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The group plans to invest in 16 additional projects in Vietnam by 2025.
