New tunnel in HCM City scheduled to open in late December
The Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho tunnel is expected to help deal with traffic congestion in the southern gateway of the city.
The Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Huu Tho tunnel in Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to open to traffic on December 31 this year, contributing to tackling traffic congestion in the southern gateway of the southern city, according to the city’s transportation work construction and investment project management board.
The 456-m tunnel includes a 40-m section crossing over Metro Line 4, a 180-m section near Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, and a 178-m section located on National Highway 1 in Binh Chanh District.
The project has an estimated investment capital of over VND830 billion ($32.5 million).
So far, 85% of the work volume has been done.
