Nghe An to be developed into major center
North-central province’s per capita GRDP stood at over $2,000 last year.

The Politburo has agreed to issue a new resolution on developing north-central Nghe An province by 2030 with a vision towards 2045, targeting rapid and sustainable development, according to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The resolution targets building Nghe An into a regional center of trade, logistics, healthcare, education and training, science and technology, industry, and high-tech agriculture.
It will become a growth driver of the north-central region with a modern infrastructure network.
Speaking at a meeting on May 25 to review the implementation of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW, issued on July 30, 2013, on orientations and tasks for developing Nghe An by 2020, Party General Secretary Trong said the new resolution should contain more specific and practical solutions to boost the province’s growth.
After ten years of implementing Resolution No. 26, Nghe An ranked tenth nationwide in terms of economic scale last year, with per capita gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of VND51.4 million ($2,189), more than double the figure in 2013.
