Ninh Binh tourism flourishes, driving economic growth
International arrivals exceeded 907,000, achieving 100.8% of annual target and tripling last year’s figure.
Ninh Binh province continues reaping the rewards of its well-planned tourism strategy. In the first nine months of this year, the northern province welcomed nearly 7.3 million visitors, reaching 97.3% of its annual target and marking a 32% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Domestic tourists accounted for over 6.3 million, reaching 96.8% of the annual target and increasing by 22.2% year-on-year. Meanwhile, international arrivals exceeded 907,000, achieving 100.8% of the annual target and tripling last year’s figure.
The total number of visitors to accommodations in Ninh Binh was estimated at over 1.5 million, reaching 96% of the annual target and increasing by 55.3% year-on-year.
Overnight stays were estimated at 1.7 million, a 33.8% increase year-on-year.
Ninh Binh's tourism revenue in the first nine months reached over VND7.25 trillion ($292 million), accounting for 87.9% of the annual target and increasing by 43% compared to the same period last year. Accommodation revenue reached VND608 billion ($24.5 million), up 27.6%, while restaurant revenue reached VND3.6 trillion ($145.57 million), up 40%.
According to the Ninh Binh Statistics Office, the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the first nine months of 2024 (at 2010 comparable prices) is estimated to reach VND41.38 trillion ($1.66 billion), an increase of 8.45% compared to the same period in 2023.
