Over 85,000 Vietnamese workers sent abroad in first 7 months of 2025
Japan led the recruitment with 4,318 workers, followed by Taiwan (China) with 4,265, and South Korea with 1,690.
Over 11,000 Vietnamese workers went abroad for employment in July, including 3,374 women, according to the Department of Overseas Labor under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Key labor markets continued to show stable growth, reaffirming the reputation and quality of Vietnamese workers internationally. Japan led the recruitment with 4,318 workers, followed by Taiwan (China) with 4,265, and South Korea with 1,690.
Other markets such as mainland China, Singapore, Romania, and Hungary also maintained hiring activities, opening up more opportunities for Vietnamese laborers.
Cumulatively, nearly 85,800 Vietnamese workers were sent abroad during the first seven months of 2025, including nearly 29,000 women, achieving nearly 66% of the annual target (the 2025 goal is to send 130,000 workers overseas under contract).
The department stated that this as a positive signal, reflecting the proactive efforts of enterprises in promoting international labor markets and the strong demand for Vietnamese human resources worldwide.
Key markets over the seven-month period included: Japan (39,558 workers), Taiwan (China) with 32,471 workers, and South Korea with 7,340 workers.
Currently, there are over 800,000 Vietnamese workers employed in 40 countries and territories. In 2024 alone, more than 158,000 workers were sent abroad. Vietnamese overseas workers send home an estimated $5 billion in remittances annually.
