Planning announced for Hoa Binh Lake
Northern province’s national tourist area to be built by 2035.
The Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee has held an online conference to announce the general planning to build the Hoa Binh Lake national tourist area by 2035.
According to Mr. Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee, the planning is an important foundation for the development of the lake
The planning area is 52,200 ha, within the boundary of Hoa Binh city (including Thai Binh, Phuong Lam, and Tan Thinh wards, and part of Hoa Binh commune), Da Bac district (Dong Ruong, Yen Hoa, Cao Son, Tien Phong, Vay Nua, Hien Luong, and Toan Son communes), Cao Phong district (Binh Thanh and Thung Nai communes), Tan Lac district (Suoi Hoa and Phu Vinh communes), and Mai Chau district (Son Thuy and Tan Thanh communes and part of Dong Tan commune).
Hoa Binh Lake is considered a key national-level tourist area of the northern midland and mountainous region with potential for tourism development thanks to its diverse landscapes, including various islands, as well as the unique culture of local ethnic minority groups. It is forecast that, by 2035, the population will be about 130,000-145,000 people, welcoming 2.5-3 million visitors annually. Land around Hoa Binh Lake has been put up for sale and attracted a lot of attention from investors.
Representatives of localities in Hoa Binh province at the conference expressed their hope that relevant authorities would soon develop zoning plans and set up planning landmarks so they can manage and organize the implementation of the planning.
