PM asks to accelerate construction of 500kV transmission line

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked contractors and relevant agencies to mobilize resources and forces to accelerate the construction of the 500kV power transmission line, circuit 3, which is scheduled to be completed by June 30.

The Government leader on June 22 examined the construction site of the project’s section that crosses central Thanh Hoa province.

The 519-km line runs from Quang Trach district in central Quang Binh province to Pho Noi in northern Hung Yen province.

It includes four component projects, namely Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh 1 Thermal Power Plant, and Nam Dinh 1 Thermal Power Plant - Pho Noi.

It has the total investment capital estimated at VND23 trillion ($903 million).

PM Chinh asked contractors to focus resources, equipment, and personnel for the project, and encouraged workers to overcome all difficulties to work continuously.

The project is one of national key projects helping to ensure the national energy security and improving the transmission capacity of the national power system, ensuring power supply for the northern region during the peak period of 2024 and the following years.
