PM calls for promotion of growth drivers
Government leader sets key tasks for 2024 at government meeting.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to continue promoting growth drivers while chairing the government’s regular meeting in Hanoi on February 1, the Government News has reported.
This is part of key tasks he assigned for February, the first quarter, and the year as a whole.
Focus should be on attracting and disbursing investment resources, accelerating the implementation of investment projects, and attracting FDI, particularly projects in the fields of manufacturing and processing, electronics, and semiconductors, he said.
It is also essential to boost exports to markets of potential, help businesses meet the new requirements of partners, and speed up the negotiation and signing of an agreement on Vietnam-UAE comprehensive economic partnership and free trade agreements with Brazil and Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) countries.
The Prime Minister also asked for measures to stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, and ensure major balances in the economy.
He also called for the speeding up of public investment disbursement, tackling difficulties in production and trade, and strongly developing key sectors, including industry, agriculture, and services.
Prime Minister Chinh asked for the optimization of new drivers like the digital economy, the green economy, the circular economy, innovation, and job creation; addressing disruptions to production chains; and further engaging domestic businesses in global supply chains.
