PM Pham Minh Chinh to pay official visit to South Korea

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse will pay an official visit to South Korea from June 30 to July 3, at the invitation of South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his spouse, the Government News has quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as announcing.
Vietnam and South Korea established diplomatic relations on December 22, 1992, and upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Cooperative Partnership in October 2009 and a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022.
South Korea is Vietnam’s largest foreign investor, second largest official development aid provider, and third largest labor and trade partner.
Two-way trade turnover between the two countries reached US$76.1 billion in 2023 and US$25.5 billion in the first four months this year, up 4 per cent from the same period of 2023.
As of April 2024, South Korea had 9,957 valid projects in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of more than US$87 billion.
Approximately 3.6 million tourists from South Korea visited Vietnam last year, while more than 500,000 Vietnamese traveled to South Korea.
