PM requests to put 500kV line into operation in September

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has required relevant ministries, localities and agencies to urgently take measures to remove difficulties and obstacles to accelerate the 500kV national transmission line project, circuit 3, so as to put it into operation on September 2 (Vietnam's National Day).

The PM made the request at teleconference held on July 22 with the ministries, localities and agencies, the fourth meeting on the implementation of the project in the past six months.

PM Chinh asked relevant sides to mobilize all resources, keep close tabs on the construction work and make concerted efforts to improve quality as well as assure safety, environmental hygiene and legitimate rights of local residents.

Running through nine localities from Quang Trach district in central Quang Binh province to Pho Noi in northern Hung Yen province, the 519-km line is being built at an estimated cost of VND22 trillion ($864 million).

Construction started in January, 2024.
