PM seeks electronic authentication of participants on e-commerce platforms
Government leader issues dispatch calling for enhanced State management over e-commerce.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested that relevant ministries and agencies promote the implementation of electronic authentication of participants on e-commerce platforms in order to prevent tax evasion and fraud.
Organizations, businesses, and individuals involved are to be authenticated when participating in the exchange and trade of goods on these platforms.
This forms part of measures to enhance State management over e-commerce as required by the Prime Minister in a dispatch issued on November 25.
They were also instructed to proactively develop policies to manage transactions in e-commerce activities related to exports and imports; continue to promote dissemination and guidance to help businesses and people enhance their awareness of legal compliance and consumer protection in cyberspace; and expand cross-border e-commerce activities.
The Prime Minister also called for the research, amendment, and supplementation of legal instruments to strengthen penalties and the suspension or revocation of operational licenses for violations related to e-commerce activities; and the management of business registrations specific to e-commerce activities and business models on digital platforms.
Relevant ministries and agencies are directed to intensify State management to fight high-tech crime and combat smuggling and commercial fraud in e-commerce activities.
