PM sets continous economic development as central task
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chairing a meeting on August 23 discussing draft report on implementation of the socio-economic development strategy for 2021 – 2030 to prepare for the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the importance of developing economy as the central task and asked for continuous renewal of traditional growth drivers while promoting new ones at the third meeting of the sub-committee for socio-economic affairs preparing for the 14th National Party Congress, scheduled for early 2026.
The meeting, held in Hanoi on August 23, reviewed the sub-committee’s working results, and discussed a draft report on five years of implementing the socio-economic development strategy for 2021 – 2030, and draft orientations and tasks for socio-economic development during 2026 – 2030.
The draft report and draft orientations and tasks, after being passed by the sub-committee, will be submitted to the Politburo and the 10th session of the 13th Party Central Committee for further consideration.
The draft report features the overall situation, the general development trend of the country and the world. It also highlights new features in the leadership, direction, implementation and the results of carrying out the socio-economic development strategy in the five year period (2021-2025).
Other tasks include making stronger breakthroughs in completing institutions, developing strategic infrastructure and promoting human resources training towards more transparent institutions, sufficient infrastructure and smart governance, the PM said.
