Prime Minister meets top Lao leader in Kazan
At their meeting on October 23 on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan city of Russia, the two leaders re-affirmed their commitment to further strengthening the solidarity and bond among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith in on October 23 on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan city of Russia, according to a report from the Government News.
The Vietnamese PM congratulated Laos on successfully hosting the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits and the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45).
He affirmed that the success of these events has indicated that Laos is a responsible member with an increasingly important voice in the international community, contributing to peace, cooperation, and prosperity in the region and the world.
The Vietnamese leader affirmed that Vietnam will continue to stand side by side with Laos and provide the highest possible support to help the country overcome challenges and difficulties.
President Sisoulith congratulated Mr. Luong Cuong upon his election as new President of Vietnam, expressing his desire to soon welcome the Vietnamese President to pay a state visit to Laos.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude for Vietnam's wholehearted, and comprehensive support for Laos in assuming the responsibility of the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024.
The Lao leader asserted that the Party, Government, and people of Laos always bear in mind Vietnam's sincere support and assistance for Laos during the national liberation and development.
The two leaders expressed their delight at the close and effective coordination between their ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing the outcomes of the meeting between the Politburos of Vietnam and Laos (in September 2024), as well as the cooperation agreements and commitments reached by their senior leaders.
Both sides re-affirmed their commitment to further strengthening the solidarity and bond among Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia, pledging to promote unity among the three nations, three parties, and three countries.
The two leaders underscored the significance of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, considering it as an invaluable asset, a top priority, and a vital factor for the revolutionary cause of both countries, which must be preserved and passed down to future generations.
