Quang Binh province posts GRDP growth of 6.5% in 1H

Central Quang Binh province registered GRDP growth of 6.50% year-on-year in the first six months of 2024, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

With this achievement, the province ranks 29th out of 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam.

Of which, the agro-forestry and fishery sector rose 2.96%; industry and construction sector, 7.96%; and services sector 7.03%.

The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) surged 7.4% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the processing and manufacturing sector was up 8%; and electricity production and distribution 4.1%.

Quang Binh recorded total retail sales of consumer goods and services of over VND25.59 trillion (over $1 billion) during the six-month period, a year-on-year growth of 10.3%.

As one of popular tourist destinations of Vietnam, Quang Binh attracted 2.44 million tourists in the first half of the year, leading to high growth in revenue from accommodation, catering and travelling services, at 16.9%; 10.4% and 38.1%, respectively.
