Quang Binh province posts positive growth in 5M

Central Quang Binh province posted total retail sales of consumer goods of over VND21.42 trillion ($841 million) in the first five months of the year, up 10.2% compared to the same period of 2023.

As the tourism season started in May, many services in the province gained high growth.

Revenue from accommodation services was estimated at $60.3 billion ($2.36 million) in May, up 12.7% compared to the previous month and 20.3% year-on-year, bringing the total value in the five-month period to VND255 billion ($10.02 million), soaring 15.5% year-on-year.

The province welcomed 57,721 international visitors in the first five months, a year-on-year rise of 31%.

Catering services earned over VND1.78 trillion ($69.9 million) during the five-month period, up 9.7% year-on-year.

The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in the five - month period rose 7.2% year-on-year. Of which, the manufacturing and processing industry surged 9.2%; and electricity production and distribution, up 3.6%.
