Central Quang Nam province has issued Resolution No. 40-NQ/TU, focusing on the management, conservation, and development of Ngoc Linh ginseng to 2030 with a vision to 2035.

The province aims to expand Ngoc Linh ginseng production in Nam Tra My district and other areas by 2030, covering 8,400 ha. This will provide raw materials for domestic and international markets, with an annual yield of approximately 100 tons of five-year-old ginseng roots from a harvesting area of some 300-350 ha.

It will establish in-situ conservation areas and ex-situ gene banks in key ecological zones. Quang Nam also aims to set up 30-50 large-scale ginseng gardens, produce 5-10 million one-year-old seedlings annually, and ensure that 15-30 per cent of the production area meets GACP-WHO standards.

The Resolution emphasizes developing ginseng production that adheres to export market standards, technical regulations, and traceability. It also includes registering collective trademarks for Ngoc Linh ginseng in target export countries to establish it as an internationally-recognized brand.

By 2035, Quang Nam aims to expand ginseng cultivation to 10,000 ha, ensuring a stable supply for processing and the pharmaceutical industry.

The province seeks to become the leading center for ginseng seedling production, with 35-40 per cent of the area certified by GACP-WHO standards.

The overall goal is to elevate Ngoc Linh ginseng to an internationally-branded product with high export value, generating significant revenue and improving local livelihoods.
