Thai Binh sees surge of huge investment projects
Numerous investments in the northern province join mega project with capital of nearly $2 billion that is expected to begin construction next year.
Golden Eagle Vietnam Co., Ltd. held a breaking ground ceremony on November 26 for its new fiber factory at the Quy Ninh Industrial Cluster in Quynh Phu district, northern Thai Binh province. Spanning over 78,000 sq m, the factory will receive investment of over $51 million.
Also in November, the Thai Binh Provincial Industrial Park Management Board granted an investment license to Yuan Long International Limited from Thailand, which will build the Yuan Long Vietnam factory at the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park in Thai Thuy district. The facility is to be built on 15.6 ha of land with total investment of $120 million.
According to the provincial People’s Committee, Thai Binh has issued new business licenses to 986 enterprises this year with registered capital of VND10.4 trillion (approximately $410 million).
It also attracted several significant projects last year, including the VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park, with estimated investment of nearly $212 million, the Pegavision Vietnam factory, producing contact lenses for the Pegavision Corporation, with capital of $200 million, and a soju distillery at the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park, with investment of $100 million, among others.
A mega-project with an investment of nearly $2 billion is expected to commence construction in 2025.
Economic experts have highlighted Thai Binh’s numerous advantages in attracting FDI, as it boasts an economic zone on 30,583 ha, including 22 industrial parks with 8,020 ha of industrial land actively being developed and prepared for investors.
