Trade promotion initiatives will ramp up significantly in 2025, with an emphasis on market diversification and leveraging opportunities created by Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

Additionally, there will be an emphasis on exploring new and potential markets, globally.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade,  highlighted these priorities to ensure exports continue to drive economic growth and meet the National Assembly's targets of achieving a GDP growth rate of approximately 6.5-7.0% — with an aspirational aim of 7.0-7.5% — and a per capita GDP of around $4,900.

Preliminary statistics show that trade promotion activities under the National Program on Trade Promotion in 2024 supported nearly 6,000 businesses, cooperatives, and local trade promotion organizations, facilitating their participation and benefiting them significantly.

Contracts signed directly at international fairs and exhibitions reached a total value of nearly $100 million, excluding those signed post-event. Meanwhile, sales at regional fairs and exhibitions amounted to hundreds of billions of VND.

Moreover, the National Trade Promotion Program's activities enabled businesses to grasp market dynamics, understand consumer preferences, and connect with partners, domestical and international. It also helped companies leverage FTAs to promote and introduce their products to foreign importers and secure stable raw material sources for production, thereby aiding their integration into global value chains.

National-scale international trade fairs and exhibitions were organized across the country, while numerous trade missions abroad allowed businesses to explore markets and forge connections with promising business and investment partners in nations such as the United States, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, China, South Korea, Japan, and India, among others.

Additionally, the Trade Promotion Agency, in collaboration with relevant agencies, facilitated the visits of 11 business delegations from China and the United States to engage in trade and collaborate with Vietnamese import-export businesses.
