US Secretary of State: US commits to boosting trade and investment cooperation with Vietnam

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is paying a visit to Vietnam on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the bilateral comprehensive partnership.

The US commits to enhancing cooperation with Vietnam across spheres, especially in trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, and climate change response, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during their meeting in Hanoi on April 15.

The diplomat stressed that the US attaches importance to its relationship with Vietnam and wishes to advance it to a new level.

Party General Secretary Trong stressed that the official visit to Vietnam, the first by Mr. Blinken in his capacity as US Secretary of State, is of significance as it takes place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the bilateral comprehensive partnership.

He spoke highly of the results of the US official’s working sessions in Vietnam, as well as the strong, comprehensive development of bilateral relations.

The positive outcomes in Vietnam-US relations will create the foundation for the two to elevate their ties to a new high, he said.
