Vietcombank starts to sell gold bullion via mobile app
This is the first bank offering the service.
Vietcombank, one of the four State-owned commercial banks that are allowed to sell SJC-branded gold bars to the public, started to selling gold bullion via its mobile app on August 27.
Vietcombank is the first among the four banks offering this service.
The gold transactions via the bank’s mobile app – VCB Digibank - will be carried out the same as conducting via the bank’s website. Consumers can register to buy the gold via the mobile app between 10 am to 4pm on working days.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has sold SJC-branded gold bars on the market through the four banks, namely Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and Vietinbank, and the Saigon Jewelry and Germ Stone Co. (SJC) since June 3.
In order to prevent people from lining up to buy gold at transaction points, the four banks and the SJC encouraged customers to register to buy the gold online via their official websites.
