Vietnam-India trade turnover expected to mark $15 bln in 2024
Two-way trade value increasing 11% annually.
Vietnam-India trade turnover is estimated to reach $15 billion in 2024, according to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang.
In the first 11 months of the year, the two-way trade revenue hit $13.67 billion, surging 3.5% compared to the same period last year, figures from the Vietnam General Department of Customs show. Of the total, $8.38 billion was gained fromVietnam's export.
The two-way trade has increased 11% annually over the past ten years.
Key export products of Vietnam to India include computers and electronic hardware, mobile phones and accessories, machine and equipment, chemicals and chemical products and footwear.
Addressing the Vietnam – India Meet on Economic Cooperation held in Hanoi on December 24, Deputy Minister Thang said there are still many opportunities and potential for the two countries to boost trade and economic cooperation.
Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya said the trade and economic cooperation between Vietnam and India has grown significantly over the past years, stressing that India is one of the top 10 trade partner of Vietnam.
