The fair features nearly 400 booths from Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, mainland China, and Taiwan (China).
The 2024 Vietnam International Agricultural Fair officially opened on November 1 in the Meking Delta city of Can Tho.
Nearly 400 booths from 20 domestic provinces and cities as well as from South Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan (China), among others, have participated at the fair.
On the show are agricultural machinery and equipment, production and processing lines for agricultural products, agricultural supplies, fertilizers, pesticides, technologies supporting high-tech agriculture, solutions for promoting agricultural product connectivity, post-harvest preservation techniques, regional specialties, and more.
According to Deputy Chairman of Can Tho city People's Committee Nguyen Thuc Hien, this is an annual fair organized by Can Tho since 1997.
The fair aims at promoting trade promotion activities, strengthening connections and cooperation in the development of high-tech agriculture, creating opportunities for businesses to promote their brands, expand their markets, and highlight the value of agricultural, forestry, and seafood products.
The event also provides an opportunity to showcase the potential and strengths of the Mekong Delta region, particularly its agricultural sector, to associations, businesses, and investors both domestical and international.
The Mekong Delta region currently has numerous agricultural product groups with export values exceeding $1 billion, including fruits, rice, and seafood.
The region contributes approximately 31% of the country's agricultural sector's GDP, accounting for roughly 50% of rice production, 95% of rice exports, 65% of aquaculture and fishing production, 60% of fish exports, and nearly 70% of various fruits.
Between November 1 - 5, several trade-related activities will be held in the framework of the fair, including a workshop introducing Ecobiznet's microbial products in the agricultural sector of Vietnam, a conference announcing the integrated agricultural planning for Can Tho city from 2021 to 2030, with a vision for 2050, and the Can Tho 2024 Agricultural Technology and Equipment Market - TechAgri Can Tho 2024.
