Vietnam sets out socio-economic development tasks for 2022
Twelve main tasks and solutions announced in implementing this year’s socio-economic development plan.
Vietnam will focus on effectively implementing the dual goal of pandemic prevention and control combined with strengthening the recovery and socio-economic development in 2022, according to a draft Resolution from the government on the main tasks and solutions for the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget estimate in 2022. The draft was presented at a government meeting with localities to implement the conclusions from the Party Central Committee and the Resolution from the 15th National Assembly (NA) on the 2022 socio-economic development plan, held on January 5 and attended by the country’s top leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chính, and NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
The first is to focus on flexibly and effectively implementing the goal of both prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic and recovery and socio-economic development. The second is to build and perfect law enforcement institutions and organizations and to promote national digital transformation and innovation. The third is promoting economic restructuring and developing the digital economy and society. The fourth is rapidly developing modern infrastructure networks as well as speeding up the construction of key infrastructure projects.
The fifth is improving the quality of education and training in scientific research and technology application. The sixth is promoting links between regions and economic zones and speeding up the progress of planning and approval. The seventh is developing culture and promoting the value of Vietnamese culture and people. The eighth is the effective use of land and resources, to strengthen environmental protection.
The ninth is improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State management, tightening discipline to prevent corruption and other negativity. The tenth is consolidating and enhancing national defense and security potential. The eleventh is improving the efficiency of foreign affairs, proactively integrating more deeply into the international community. And the 12th is promoting information and improving the efficiency of mass mobilization efforts.
Vietnam will also strive for 2022 to be the year when the country successfully controls the pandemic and recovers and develops its economy while maintaining national sovereignty, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The Vietnamese people are to have a peaceful life and proactively adapt to the recovery of the socio-economy.
