Vietnamese & Chinese enterprises seek cooperative opportunities

More than 200 enterprises from Vietnam and Shandong province in China attended a conference in Hanoi on June 1 to seek investment and cooperative opportunities.

Businesses mostly operate in the fields of agriculture and food, machinery and equipment, rubber tires and auto parts, and construction and building materials.

Shandong province, with a population of 101.62 million, is a market of potential for Vietnamese agricultural products.

Despite the negative impact of Covid-19, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries continued to develop, according to Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Hoang Minh Chien.

Two-way trade in 2022 reached $175.6 billion, a year-on-year rise of 5.5 per cent.

China remains Vietnam’s largest trade partner and import market.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Shandong province was estimated at nearly $14 billion in 2022, up 35.1 per cent against 2021.
