Vietnamese, Singaporean leaders agree to develop more VSIPs

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong have agreed to develop more Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs) in Vietnam to include hi-tech parks, urban areas, and commercial zones.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China, on June 25.

The two PMs also agreed to further reinforce their countries' cooperation in various fields, including promoting bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties, especially in high technology, renewable energy, wind power export, carbon credit exchange, smart infrastructure, sustainable urban development, and cybersecurity.

PM Chinh proposed Singapore to deepen cooperation in promising sectors such as digital economy, green economy, and international financial center development.

The Singaporean PM expressed his hope to actively cooperate with Vietnam in rice import to ensure food security for his country.
