World Bank continues supporting Vietnam to upgrade securities market
The WB Country Director having a working session with the head of the State Securities Commission.
The World Bank (WB) will continue to accompany the Ministry of Finance and the State Securities Commission (SCC) of Vietnam in implementing programs and projects to enhance market supervision and management capacity and execute solutions to upgrade the securities market, according to WB Country Director in Vietnam, Ms. Mariam Sherman.
At a recent working session with SCC Chairwoman Vu Thi Chan Phuong, Ms. Sherman said the WB will consider continuing to implement the Joint capital markets program (J-Cap) program for the Vietnamese securities market because of the role and effectiveness that the program has brought in recent times.
She highly appreciated the solutions that the Ministry of Finance and the SSC are implementing to achieve the goal of upgrading the securities market.
For her part, Ms. Phuong thanked the WB for its support for the SSC in many fields such as policy advice, sharing international experiences and developing thematic assessment reports.
The Ministry of Finance and the SCC continue to take measures to meet criteria of international credit organizations to upgrade the Vietnamese securities market, she said.
