2024 tra fish export estimated to reach $1.8 bln

Pangasius (tra fish) export revenue is expected to hit $1.8 billion in 2024 as demand forecast to keep increasing in the remaining months of the year, up 6% against 2023, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP).

The tra fish export value in the first six months of the year reached $918 million, a year-on-year growth of 5%.

In June alone, tra fish export earned nearly $172 million, soaring 20% compared to the same period last year.

China and Hong Kong (China) remained the largest importers of Vietnamese tra fish products in June with an estimated value of $56 million, up 16% year-on-year,  followed by the US with $27 million, surging 22% year-on-year.
