A press conference was held on June 2 to announce the 2025 Cashless Day in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 2025 Cashless Day was launched in Ho Chi Minh City on June 2 with the theme “Cashless Payments Driving the Digital Economy.”

The month-long campaign aims to raise public awareness and encourage people to get access to and use digital payment methods, thus helping to gradually build a sustainable cashless ecosystem in Vietnam.

This year’s campaign targets to reach at least 50 million people, generate over 5 million online and media engagements, and draw 200,000 in-person participants.

It is also aimed at increasing the rate of cashless transactions in HCM City in June 2025 by at least 20%.

Cashless payment has annually increased 30-40% in Vietnam, according to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Payment Department of the State Bank of Vietnam.

Initiated from 2019, the cashless day has become an annual event that has helped to reshape consumption behavior of consumers and supported the national digital transformation process.
