Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries exports surge
This growth was driven by a significant export surplus of $13.86 billion, up 71.2% from the previous year.
In the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries exports reached a new high of $46.28 billion, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year, reported the Voice of Vietnam.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, this growth was driven by a significant export surplus of $13.86 billion, up 71.2% from the same period of the previous year.
A majority of product groups, including agricultural products, forestry products, fisheries, and livestock, experienced increased exports. Key products such as wood and wood products, coffee, rice, cashew nuts, fruits and vegetables, shrimp, pangasius, and pepper all saw higher export values compared to the same period in 2023.
The sector's exports to all major markets—Asia, America, Europe, and Oceania—expanded. The United States, China, and Japan remained the top three export destinations, with the United States holding the largest share at 21.6%.
While some domestic prices, particularly for rice and vegetables, experienced localized increases due to Typhoon Yagi, the overall domestic market remained relatively stable.
