Airlines to end sales of domestic flight tickets
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has asked domestic airlines to stop selling tickets on domestic routes until further notice.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has requested that domestic airlines - Vietnam Airlines, VietjetAir, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, and Vietravel Airlines - suspend the sale of tickets on domestic routes until further notice.
It also asked the carriers to refund passengers with domestic tickets issued after July 21.
Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and many cities and provinces remain subject to social distancing orders under Directive No. 16 or other directives from the Prime Minister. The CAAV’s request implements instructions from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Transport to ensure the rights of customers.
Previously, on July 21, the CAAV requested that carriers minimize the number of flights from Ho Chi Minh City and cities and provinces implementing Directive No. 16 to Hanoi, while cancelling all flights between Hanoi and Can Tho and Phu Quoc Island. Two return passenger flights are permitted each day between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, operated by Vietnam Airlines. Cargo flights can be operated without restrictions.
Regarding flights for the purpose of disease prevention and control, or for official duties, carriers must report to the CAAV on a case-by-case basis. Other flights must gain approval from relevant authorities.
