Airports in Vietnam forecast to serve 78.3 mln passengers in 2024

Airports in Vietnam are forecast to serve 78.3 million passengers and handle 1.21 million tons of cargo in 2024, up 7.7% and 13.4% year-on-year, respectively, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

In the first six months of the year, the total passengers transported through airports reached 54 million.

Vietnamese airlines transported more than 17 million domestic passengers and nearly 9 million foreign passengers during the six-month periods.

As many as 63 airlines conducted 160 international air routes connecting Vietnam with other countries.

The total cargo transported through the airports reached more than 721,000 tons in the first six months, up 26% year-on-year, including  492,000 tons through international routes.
