An Giang province to host Mekong Connect 2024

An Giang province is set to host the Mekong Connect forum on December 17 and 18, 2024, reported the national radio broadcaster Voice of Vietnam.

Under the theme "Boosting Economic, Trade, and Technological Cooperation in the Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City and the Whole Country, Towards Sustainable Development in a New Competitive Landscape," Mekong Connect 2024 will focus on three key areas: economics, trade, and technology.

The forum aims to enhance economic connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and the localities in the Mekong Delta, promoting green and sustainable development in a new competitive environment.

With the main keywords "connectivity", "sustainable development", and "new competition", the event promises to deliver rich content and stimulate innovative initiatives.

While this is the ninth Mekong Connect forum, it is the first time the event will be held in An Giang, a key agricultural and economic province in the  Delta.

The themes of "Cooperation", "Connectivity", "Integration", and "Development" have consistently underscored previous Mekong Connect forums, with the strategic goal of improving the value and quality of the Mekong Delta region's supply chains.

The forum will also showcase outstanding agricultural startups from across Vietnam.

This year's event will feature a high-level delegation, including the President of OTOP Thailand, the President of a sector development board of the Royal Thai Economic Development Advisory Council, the President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the President of the Vietnam-Thailand Business Association. These delegates will participate in the "Startup Exchange" program on December 17.

Additionally, startups from Singapore, South Korea, and Malaysia will also attend.
