Bac Giang brings in investment of $1.55bln in 7M

Northern province grants licenses to 47 FDI projects in the first seven months of this year.

Northern Bac Giang province had attracted over $1.55 billion worth of investment capital this year as of July 17, a 1.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Provincial People’s Committee.

Nearly $1.2 billion came from 47 new FDI projects, up 4.47-fold year-on-year, while nearly $207 million was in additional capital for 22 existing FDI projects.

The province ranked second in Vietnam in terms of FDI attraction in the first half of the year, luring over $1.3 billion and following only the capital Hanoi.

There were 1,217 newly-registered enterprises in the province during the seven-month period, with total registered capital of over VND18.4 trillion ($776 million), up 31.4 per cent year-on-year in number but down 15.8 per cent in capital.
