Binh Duong province to build 9,240 social housing units with $350 mln investment

The rapid development of industrial parks in the southern province has led to a significant influx of people from across the country.

The People's Committee of Binh Duong Province has made public several investment projects that have been granted investment policy decisions and certificates.

Among these are seven social housing projects, with investment capital estimated at VND8.468 trillion ($334.7 million), which are expected to provide 9,240 apartments for low-income residents.

The key social housing projects include Toan My Social Housing Area, with 1,204 apartments, and investment capital of VND1,560 billion (over $61.5 million); Thai Duong Social Housing Area with 900 apartments, and  VND1,123 billion ($44.3 million); and Thanh Binh Social Housing Apartment Complex with 868 apartments, and VND948 billion ($37.4 million).

Additionally, four social welfare housing projects have been approved, with a total investment exceeding VND4.836 trillion (nearly $191 million) to construct 6,268 apartments.

Local authorities have highlighted that the rapid development of industrial parks in Binh Duong has led to a significant influx of people from across the country, increasing the demand for housing in the province.

By August 2024, the province had completed 15,893 units. The goal for 2025 is to deploy 26,552 units, aiming to meet the Government's target and the approved plan for the 2021-2025 period of 42,000 units.
