Binh Duong gets new city
Tan Uyen city posting average annual growth of 12.57%.
The southern province of Binh Duong has a new city, Tan Uyen, from April 10, under a resolution from the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Tan Uyen, an industrial and service hub in Binh Duong, was recognized as a Grade-3 urban area in 2018 by the Ministry of Construction.
It has recorded average growth of 12.57 per cent each year and attracted numerous FDI projects.
The city currently accommodates two industrial parks and three industrial clusters with 1,867 domestic businesses and 637 foreign enterprises with total registered investment capital of over VND32.5 trillion ($1.36 billion) and nearly VND5.3 trillion ($221 million), respectively.
With the establishment of Tan Uyen, Binh Duong now has four cities, one town, and four districts, with 91 commune-level administrative units.
