Twelve British medical companies and organizations have paid a four-day visit to Ho Chi Minh City to learn about Vietnam’s healthcare industry and seek cooperation opportunities with local partners in digital health, clinical services, and medical education and training, which are all priority areas of the UK’s health cooperation in Vietnam.

“The UK leads the world in innovation in health and life sciences,” said British Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Iain Frew. “We have a universal healthcare system managed by the NHS, leading universities, and research institutes worldwide. Outside of the UK, we harness synergies to grow exports and investments with a wide range of international partners.”

Delegation members include a team of NHS Trusts, associations, medical universities, and companies. With a desire to connect with Vietnamese partners of potential, they visited hospitals and met with medical universities as well as research institutes.

During the delegation’s visit, the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City organized the Healthcare UK Workshop in Digital Health, Clinical Services, and Medical Education & Training. This presented an opportunity for medical units in Vietnam to expand their cooperation networks, hear relevant experience, and improve the quality of education, training, and medical services.

“The trade mission in the medical field is an opportunity for us to introduce to Vietnam some of the leading British medical institutions,” said Ambassador Frew. “I believe that companies and organizations in the delegation are the best providers of digital health, clinical services, and medical education and training suitable for Vietnamese partners.”
