Vietnam's leading industrial park developer Becamex IDC on July 16 signed a cooperation agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, to integrate international sustainability standards into the practical operations of the former's industrial parks.

Under the agreement, as quoted by the Vietnam News Agency, IFC will support Becamex in conducting preliminary assessments for up to five industrial parks using the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program (GEIPP) certification framework. The results will help identify strengths, gaps, and improvement in governance, and environmental, social, and economic performance.

Previously, Becamex and the World Bank Group piloted international-standard  eco-industrial parks such as Bau Bang Industrial Park, its expanded zone, and Cay Truong IP.

Building on solid groundwork, the new IFC agreement is expected to scale up pilot models toward global benchmarks and enhance access to green finance.

Becamex's headquarters located in the former southern province of Binh Duong, which has merged with Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province into new Ho Chi Minh City since July 1, 2025.
