Construction of Ha Tien - Rach Gia - Bac Lieu expressway expected to start before 2030
The 200-km expressway connecting some localities of the Mekong Delta region.
Construction of the Ha Tien - Rach Gia - Bac Lieu expressway is expected to start before 2030, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The projected expressway will pass through the Mekong Delta provinces of Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Soc Trang and Bac Lieu.
The My Thuan Project Management Board has been assigned to conduct a pre-feasibility study for the project.
Under the national road network planning for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, construction of the Ha Tien – Rach Gia section of the project, with a total length of some 100 km, is scheduled to begin before 2030,; while the Rach Gia – Bac Lieu section, which is 112 km long, will start after 2030.
