Construction underway at Aeon Mall Hue

Aeon’s seventh mall in Vietnam and first of its kind in the central region saw construction begin on the morning of February 11.

Construction of Aeon Mall Hue, the seventh mall of Aeon in Vietnam and the first of its kind in the central region, began on the morning of February 11 in Thua Thien-Hue province on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The breaking-ground ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, and other State and provincial leaders, as well as Mr. Yasutsugu Iwamura, President and CEO of the Aeon Mall Co. Ltd.

With investment of $169.67 million, Aeon Mall Hue will provide a comprehensive shopping and relaxation experience to residents of the former imperial capital and visitors, with more than 135 food, fashion, entertainment, and supermarket stalls. It is expected to help raise the province’s shopping and entertainment standards and create jobs.

On 86,000 sq m, Aeon Mall Hue is located in the An Van Duong new urban area and is expected to be commissioned at the end of fiscal 2024.

Aeon Mall Vietnam will continue to promote the development of malls in the central region in addition to the north and south, contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable economic development, urban infrastructure, and efforts to attract Japanese investors.
