The People's Council of the central city of Da Nang, at its recent 23th sitting, has passed a Resolution recognizing FPT Corporation and Marvell Vietnam Technology Company Limited as the city's first strategic partners in semiconductor integrated circuits and artificial intelligence.

According to a report submitted to the sitting by the City People's Committee, both FPT Corporation and Marvell Vietnam fully meet the criteria for strategic partnership in alignment with Da Nang’s long-term objectives for developing its semiconductor industry.

As strategic partners, the two enterprises will benefit from preferential policies under Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15, issued by the National Assembly on June 26, 2024, which outlines urban governance reforms and specific mechanisms for Da Nang’s economic development.

The City People's Committee noted that FPT Corporation and Marvell Vietnam Technology Company Limited (a subsidiary of Marvell Technology, Inc., USA) have committed to supporting Da Nang in software, hardware, human resource training, and other key areas essential for the advancement of semiconductor and AI technologies. Both companies have pledged long-term development in Da Nang for at least five years.

This partnership is the result of continuous engagement between Da Nang City leaders and major technology corporations in the semiconductor sector, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on January 16, 2025.

Da Nang is implementing multiple initiatives to establish itself as one of Vietnam’s top three centers for semiconductor integrated circuit design and AI application development by 2030.

The city aims to have at least 30 semiconductor design enterprises and service providers and attract at least 1 to 2 packaging and testing enterprises as part of its long-term vision.
