The Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong recently discussed investment opportunities and planned projects in the central province with Daewon construction company Chairman Cheun Eung Sik.
Speaking at their meeting on January 15, the company Chairman said Daewon is one of the leading South Korean investors in Vietnam, with various projects up and running across multiple areas, contributing to the country’s economic development.
He also extended his gratitude to the provincial leader and reaffirmed Daewon’s whole-hearted support for Vietnam in general and Thua Thien-Hue province in particular.
He expressed a hope that the provincial government will create favorable conditions so that Daewon’s urban area and resort project in Hue and nearby Huong Tra town can be carried out this year to connect South Korean tourists and visitors to Hue.
According to information released by the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People’s Council in December, the project, called the Daewon - Hue Urban Area & Eco Tourism Project, will be built on a total area of 282 ha, of which 231 ha will be in Huong Tho commune in Hue city and 50 ha in Binh Thanh commune, Huong Tra town.
The project will mostly consist of accommodation facilities, golf courses, space for organizing activities, hotels and resorts, museums, and commercial facilities, as well as infrastructure like roads, parks, and specialized bicycle paths.
Under the plan, project implementation for the project will be about ten years
Mr. Phuong, meanwhile, expressed his sincere thanks to the head of Daewon and made a commitment to provide maximum support to investors whose projects are suitable.
In regard to scheduled projects, he said provincial authorities and related local agencies will accompany the South Korean company and strive to complete the necessary procedures for the project to begin construction this year.
