Dong Nai tops Vietnam in trade surplus in 8M

Southern Dong Nai province registered export revenue of more than $15.57 billion in the first eight months of 2024, surging 8.6% compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

In August alone, the province's export value stood at $2.19 billion, up 7.02% year-on-year.

Products recording high export growth in August include cashew nuts, up 1.62% year-on-year; coffee 1.97%; rubber 2.4%; wood products 3.25%; garment and textile 3.61%; and footwear 2.86%.

Key export markets in the eight-month period were the US, Japan, China and the Republic of Korea.

Meanwhile, the province registered an import turnover of $11.3 billion, soaring 8.7% year-on-year.

With this result, Dong Nai continued leading the country in terms of trade surplus with $4.2 billion in the period.
