Vietnamese education technology (edtech) startup MindX has raised $15 million in a Series B funding round led by education-focused private equity fund Kaizenvest. Other backers included Thai education company Aksorn, Japanese HR firm Mynavi, and Series A lead Wavemaker Partners.

“MindX is well-positioned to lead the coding and digital skills space in Vietnam,” said Mr. Sandeep Aneja, Founder and Managing Partner of Kaizenvest. “We are delighted to be associated with the founding team as they have consistently delivered high-quality learning outcomes. We believe this investment fits within the future of learning themes and is testament to our confidence in the growing demand for technology courses in Southeast Asia in the long term.”

“Our dream is to create a ‘Little Silicon Valley’ in every Vietnamese neighborhood, where everyone is empowered to create cool digital products that make the world a better place,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Co-founder and CEO of MindX. “It’s not just a physical space to unleash creativity; it’s a state of mind. The engineering culture and entrepreneurial spirit are embedded in every aspect of our business, from course design to learning experiences.”

“Innovators and creators are nurtured, not born,” he went on. “Today, we would like to prepare young learners with the skills and mindset needed to create innovative tools, technologies, and even unknown jobs to address the unknown challenges of their times.”

With the proceeds from the Series B round, the company plans to further develop its portfolio of products and services, hybrid learning experiences, and data-driven systems to scale up Vietnam’s digital talent pool.

Previously, in November 2021, MindX successfully raised nearly $3 million in its Series A round. Since then, the company has more than tripled its geographical coverage to more than 32 campuses in Vietnam, making it the largest coding educator in the region.

Founded in 2015, MindX has graduated over 35,000 students and partners with over 200 companies in Singapore, Australia, and Thailand to enable global access to Vietnam’s digital workforce.
