FDI firm CEO tops 2024 salary rankings

The average monthly salary for workers in 2024 was estimated to be VND8.88 million ($353.3), marking a 4% increase from 2023's VND8.5 million ($339), according to a report from 52,440 businesses encompassing 5.72 million employees across 63 provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide.

Notably, the highest monthly salary in 2024 is VND863 million ($34,430), earned by a senior management position at a foreign-invested enterprise (FDI) in construction project management consulting in Ho Chi Minh City.

Other high-salary localities include southern Dong Nai province with the highest standing at VND692.6 million ($27,630)/month, central Thua Thien - Hue province (now the centrally -run city of Hue), VND657.25 million ($26.220), and northern Bac Ninh province, VND500 million ($19,950). These top earners are all senior management personnel at foreign-invested enterprises.

The highest salaries in 2024 were: VND863 million/month for foreign-invested enterprises; VND471 million/month for private enterprises; VND171 million/month for companies with State-contributed capital or State-owned shares; and VND135.3 million/month for State-owned one-member limited liability companies with 100% State-owned charter capital.
